Picture post

Disclaimer: I may have gone a little over the top on the pictures, but guess what. My blog. I can do what I darn well please. Take that sucka

The Bombay experience went over fantastically, if I do say so myself. and to polish of the evening nicely, we went and saw The Proposal afterwards- aka, my new favorite movie...'to the windowwww, to the waaallll' hahahahahaha

Who does she belong to? Proof of Bombay. eat your heart out Just so you know, baby k loves to pose, even while sleeping
her preferred pose of choice? hands on face of course.

Okay, the next three pictures are of the picture frames I made all the dads for fathers day. There is a kinda funny story to go along with it... These frames were finished, and ready to be gifted not last Saturday, but the Saturday before that! Now way to think ahead, be prepared, right? WRONG! the 13th of June, we were picking up some necessity's for little miss Kennedy, and the thought dawned on me- 'Its fathers day soon! Crap! Its tomorrow! What luck, we're at wal.mart right this second, I can think of something quick, put it together tonight, and it wont look like I completely forgot about it!' I labored all night long, attempting to make each frame look as white trash as possible.... soon called it quits, and drifted off to dream land. Bright and early Sunday the 14th, I woke up, and wrapped up daddy's and grandpa Holman's frames to give away. At the top of the stairs, I offered my mom a sneak peak at the presents. She oo'ed and awed, and said how cute they were, then she said in passing as she walked away, 'Its not fathers day today, you know..' WHUHH? what do you mean? not today...that's impossible! I jumped onto google, my trusty 'i know everything' friend, and sure enough, mom was right. ugh. Anyway, made for a way less stressful next Saturday. I spose all's well that ends well.
Here is Tyler's frame

And grandpa Kolste's frame
Today, Kennedy had her two month well child check up. Needless to say, she was the cutest baby out of all the other baby's in Dr. land. She also is very healthy! She weighed in at a staggering 13.4 lbs (which puts her in the 99th percentile for her weight), and has grown to a very lengthy 24 in. (96th percentile). What does all this mean? Well, she's a big 'un, but at least she's proportionate ;)
where does that hefty 13.4 come from? at least 10 lbs of it is from these amazing cheeks!
Aunt Brittany LOVES Kennedy- she loves to watch her, and hold her hand, and she can't wait for her to be able to talk to her :)

Anyway ladies and gents, I gotta get some shut eye- beauty sleep is not easy to come by. and lets face it... heavens knows I need as much as a lady can get. and with that said,
GOODNIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT, DON'T LET THE BED BUGS BITE

time to chillax... before I end up looking like this

I am frazzled, to say the least. Really, I promise, I have not been in my right mind all week. Sadly, there is a good chance my fragile altered state wont return to normal for quite some time. Damages may become permanent. For all your sakes, lets hope this is not the case. This week has been exhausting for me. Its been full of working late, managers meetings, shoes breaking during said meetings, birthday dinners, trips to salt lake, miss Utah, wanting to throw things at the miss Utah magician, and the emcee, adventures driving home from salt lake in the rain late at night with 3 other directionally challenged women, lots of u turns and missed exits, bridal showers, and catching up with old friends, and rain, oh the rain, and staying up entirely too late. Yes, I know that is a run on sentence. It may not even be considered a run on sentence, lets just call it a mess of words, and phrases heaped together in a manic rant of some form or another. I'll kindly spare you the details of each said event, because a) my fingers would fall off typing such a long story, b) your eyeballs would fall out of your head reading such a long story c) there is a large portion of the work, and various other activities throughout the week that I wish never happened in the first place. Needless to say, I am sure looking forward to this weekend!

Tonight we are taking Nils and Diana out for a night on the town for Nils birthday. We missed his family party on Tuesday due to crappy planning on our part, in addition to me having to work late. So we are attempting to make it up to him by treating him and his darling wife to a little cuisine experience I'll just simply refer to as The Bombay Experience. If you haven't experienced it yet- you should be strung up by your toes and hung from a ceiling. (ew. that sounds kinda gross now that i think about it...sorry)

It has been strawberry days all week, and I haven't had a chance to do ANYTHING strawberry-ish yet. Luckily,we are going to make up for it tomorrow, by going to the ever popular rodeo. Gonna put on my straw hat, my boots, lasso up my husband and grab baby K and make our way to the rodeo arena. This is where we will gladly sit on wooden seats, eat strawberry's and cream, watch some cute kids mutton bustin, some funny guys rope and milk cows, pretty girls in sparkly shirts running their horses around barrels, and some real live cowboys ridin bulls, and buckin broncos. i. love. it. all. There may be one small hitch with my rodeo plans- I am acutally a liar and I don't really own a straw hat, or the boots... but I'll improvise!

Its also fathers day this weekend! YAY DAD's! That's right, it will be Tyler's first real live Fathers Day! I love him so much, and he is such a flippin cute dad. I really would love if you could all be a flyon the wall, just so you could see how adorable he is with Baby K. (that would be a heck of a lot of fly's...) I made (cause I'm broke) small little gifts for Tyler- the same thing for his dad, and my dad too for Fathers day. I don't want to ruin the surprise, so I cant tell you what they are- BUT I will take pictures of them, and post them on Monday. I think they turned out okay. I'm not super crafty, but when you're broke, its time to pretend! ha ha

I hope you all have a super fun- and CHILLAXING weekend :)

PS. Sunday- after wishing all the dad's happy fathers day, I plan to pass out on my bed, and not wake up for a month or so- lets hope my mental health is healed by then

The weekend

Baby K hangin out in her swing

P90X is coming on Tuesday. We will start P90X on Wednesday. I am afraid. haha.

Tyler and I have made a deal though, that makes me a little more excited about the hell I'm about to walk willingly into. If I stay faithful to the workout program, for the entire 90 days, he GETS to take me country dancing! ?He says he'll let my cousin Curt-O teach him how to dance for reals even too. I tried to offer taking real country dance lessons, but he scoffed at the idea of paying for such an event. So professor Curt-O it is...

Anyway, our weekend was pretty jammed with weddings! Love is in the rainy air apperantly. Thursay Tyler went to his buddy's temple ceremony ( I couldn't get work off to go) then that evening we went to their reception. Then Friday, we had a wedding dinner, for a close family friend of the Kolste's, and a different reception for a girl we knew in our singles ward. Side note- Her reception was freaking awesome for one reason, and one reason alone. It was held in this Log Cabin house, and adjacent to the main room inside, there was a taxadermy room. It was amazing. Complete with a couple bears, and some full grown dear. The entire cabin was filled with Moose heads, and stuffed ducks and what not. It was pretty funny. Anyhow, back to the subject, we rounded out Saturday night with a reception for the couple that we went to the wedding dinner for on Friday. It was held outside, and up until the last 15 min, it didn't rain. But man, once it started to come down, it came down hard and fast! It was intesnse! haha, the poor bride was drenched.

It was Kasja, and Jenny's birthday today!! Woot Woot! we love Birthdays. We had an amazing dinner at the Kolste's complete with icecream cake, then ran to catch the last half of Jenny's party and visit with our psudo family there.

And a little baby Kennedy update: She is still cute as ever, of course. She has decided that she really hates laying down when she is awake. She loves to be sat up so she can stare at the world around her. I think she might not be feeling very good today, she doesn't have an appetite almost at all. She has only eaten about half of what she usually does. But she isnt fussy, and she doesn't have a fever, so I am not really sure what is going on? Anyone out there have any guesses? Maybe she will be back to normal in the morning. She has started smiling a lot more often, but I don't know if its voluntary or not? But its dang cute. I need to keep the camera with me at all times so I can catch a pic one of these times...

Being back to work has been good. It went a lot smoother than I imagined it would. I feel like everything is back to normal. Tyler has been doing good with baby K. He has figured out exactly how to burp her! I could NEVER get her to burp very well, it always took so long for her. But now that Ty has figure out the magic touch, I just hand her to him, and she burps within seconds. Way to go babe!

Tyler also took Ryan fishing with his brother Kristian, and their little sister Siri last week. They had so much fun. It was pretty cold, and Siri and Ryan ended up chasing gophers for most of the day, but they did end up catching 4 fish by the time they packed up to leave. Ryan has since decided that Tyelr and him are best friends. And he thinks it would be a good idea to go fishing every single day. And if they can't go every day, then at least once a week. haha.

I guess thats mostly everything of importance. None of it is really important, its just life I guess.

We have a VERY busy week next week, so I'll try and remember to take lots of picutres, and find time to post about it as it happens!

The time has come

I went shopping yesterday quick after work for some pants. What a joyful experience!... NOT. Yes, it was there in the fitting room I realized just how much of my pregnancy weight is clinging to my body. gag. So the time has come to try and figure out how it the world to convince it to leave. Oh how I wish I could just give the extra chubb a call, and let it know that it is not welcome anymore, and that it would would promptly pack up and leave. Sadly, don't think it will happen :(

Today is the day I am turning over a new leaf. So far, I have taken what I think is an excellent step to get me back to my pre-baby K weight. This morning I paid Kristi $5 to keep me away from the snack room at my work. I may have to up the dollar amount in the event that I crave a Milky Way badly enough that I physically overtake poor Kristi who is roughly the size of half my left leg. That's right, I can take her. Hmm, maybe I should consider paying off a couple of other people in the office. There is strength in numbers.

Also, my dearest husband, Tyler, Doesn't know it yet, but he will be helping me also. He will kindly be purchasing me a little workout video called P90X. Now, for those of you who do not know what P90X is, stay up a little past midnight tonight and flip through the channels on your television set, and you will see the P90X infomercial on every other station. There is a good chance I will loose weight from this program, not from sticking to the exercise routine, but because it will no doubt KILL me the first time I try it. The dead don't hold onto their weight well ;)

And vegetables. They are disgusting!! However, I hear rumors that eating healthy requires lots and lots of vegetables. I do not promise I will eat them. BUT I do promise that if I eat them, I will not enjoy them. I'm gonna mull this part of the plan over for a while... it seems harder than the P90X thing...

I don't know if I have the guts to post a 'before' picture. I'll think about it for a day or two, and perhaps post one then.

I'm also not going to post my beginning weight, but my goal is to try and loose 45 lbs. I don't know how long it will take. It may take a little while... 45lbs if half an Olsen twin!!

Also, When you see me sneaking a Milky Way, slap me in the face, and kick me in the shin. I'll have to put it down so I can chase you down and pull your hair. (and luckily, the chasing part may burn a calorie or two!)

Wish me luck, this may be a long hard road

Freebies :)

Last night, the Kolste girls and I went to a baby shower for Tyler's cousins wife Tiffany. She lives in Salem, UT. hmmm... no big deal, I've been down that way before, it'll be easy to find.

WRONG!

Apparently driving to Salem when your husband is behind the wheel is much easier than when he isn't. After picking up Ashley in Orem, I hopped on the freeway heading south- so far so good. As I am driving along, I think to myself, 'I don't think I know what town Salem is next to, I better call Tyler quick.' call #1 to Tyler results in me finding out Tyler is no help at all. He is 'almost positive' that Salem is either before, or after Spanish Fork, and wisely counsels me to 'just keep an eye out for the sign'. I continue my journey southbound. Kasja and I are joyfully singing along to the radio as we pass Provo and Springville exits. Spanish Fork is quickly coming up and we both keep our eye's peeled for a 'Salem' exit. There wasn't one before Spanish, so it must be just after. But as we quickly found out... there isn't one just past Spanish either. hmmm, weird. I better call Tyler again. Call #2 to Tyler results in me finding out that Tyler is still no help at all. He reassures me that we must be close, and to just keep an eye out for the sign. The next sign we see read 'Benjamin 1/2 miles'. Benjamin? what in the...? Since when did we have a Benjamin in Utah? Kasja and I start laughing about what a fun little town Benjamin must be, and as we pass the exit, I happen to glance at the stop sign just off the Benjamin off ramp and see a sign that proudly declares '<-- Salem.' CRAP! I think that may have been our exit?! but it didn't say Salem, it definitely said Benjamin. I better call Tyler quick to see if there will be another exit shortly after Ben town that will get me to Salem? Call #3 and Tyler offers these gems, "Oh yeah, I remember now. There isn't a Salem sign. You were definitely supposed to get off at Benjamin." Great, thanks babe! So at the next exit, which isn't for another 5 miles, we hurriedly get off the freeway, and quickly rejoin headed north looking for the Benjamin exit. I am feeling quite confident now that I know where I am going. But sadly, all confidence is shattered when the very next sign I see says 'Spanish Fork 1 mile. Whaaat? No, this couldn't be, I need the Benjamin exit! There is no way I could have passed it already? Why would they skip Benjamin for the people traveling northbound? Do north bounders in general have no need for B town? doesn't seem fair. I pull off at the next exit we come to (which is still marked Spanish, btw) and make an executive decision to just drive towards the mountain. By the grace of God we somehow managed to eventually show up in Salem, which is miles away from the unmarked freeway. I would like to take this time to thank both my husband, and the Utah County signage department for making my journey a colorful one. We all need some color in our lives, right? But now for the good part- Tiff ended up signing up for a 'win a baby shower' contest online. And guess what? She won! The company (no idea what company it was?) sent her a giant gift card, a cake for the shower, and some pretty flowers. But the best part is- They sent her party favors for all her guests to take home! These weren't your ordinary party favor bags filled with tootsie rolls and and an eraser for the top of your pencil either. They were legit. Entire gift bags stuffed with tons of baby gear! Over $200 worth of stuff. I LOVE free stuff. They had gift certificates, and cute binky holders, bibs, bows, bottle accessories, baby bath and shampoo, bum balm, the works! How cool is that! Totally worth the wild drive to Salem, and back that drained my gas tank completely :) p.s. If you ever need directions to Salem, just gimme a call. I'm a pro now. (don't ask Tyler)

and just because my kid is freakin cute, here is a pic. eat your heart out

Sweet baby K

SO...

we all now how I am super awesome at updating my blog.... Well, its my new resolution to start being a 'real blogger'- wish me luck.

Yesterday I started my first day back to work. It was kind of a hard day, definatly very hard to leave my cute baby girl at home. But I am very grateful to even have a job, so if I concentrated on that, it helped take the sting away a little. Not to mention I didn't have to be too nervous cause I left her with Tyler all day. He is such a cute daddy. They're going to get some excellent daddy/daughter bonding time this summer.

Kennedy is getting so big! She is getting really good at holding her head up, and when she is awake, she likes to be sat up so she can look all around. She is really good at sleeping through the night, which I LOVE! We had her blessing on Sunday, and it went really well! Sabra made the most beautiful dress ever, with her sweet sewing skills. And luckily, we made it through the day with aout any spit up, or poop stains on it. Thank goodness! It was so nice to see all the family and friends that came. I love this picture of baby K in her dress, she looks like a little doll. I gotta say, I have a pretty stinkin cute kid!

And just in case you dont believe me, here is proof of how much she has grown in the last 6 weeks! I almost cant believe it!

3 days old

6 weeks, and 3 days
