We're a Moving !?

Yup, that sure is right, we are moving out of our lovely, po dunk, rat hole of an apartment. When are we moving you ask? On Friday. When did we find out when we were moving? Yesterday, yes yesterday.
Don't worry, I will fill you in....

I have written proof, that our contract says our renewal date is the end of SEPTEMBER, not AUGUST- but here is where we have a little hiccup in out plan to move out during the month of September...

Yeah, Mr. Manager (who is about 4 brain cells short of a fence post) wrote the renewal date down wrong on our contract. He then told us we had a couple of options!
Oh goodie! maybe this wont be the headache that it could possibly be?? HA! Don't be naive Tonya.

option 1) Sign another year lease to our contract, then have it be our responsibility to sell the contract when we move in September as we we're planning

option 2) Move in 4 days.

As our apartment complex has been ridiculous from the day we moved in, we opted for the ladder, rather than to fight it.

But as we are moving, lets take a minute to reminisce about all the wonderful memories of our apartment....

1- the carpets that were never cleaned when we moved into our place (over 7 months ago)- and yes, they did promise to do this.
2- the 3 months of sleeping on a mattress in our family room downstairs, as it never cools down below 90 degrees in our bedroom
3- the air conditioning unit that smokes and sparks when you try to plug it in to cool down your 90+ degree bedroom
4- praying every night that the ceiling fan above our heads as we sleep on the front room floor, wont fall out of the ceiling from overuse
5- the soft, distant smell of mold...which is probably growing under our carpets that have never been cleaned.

At least I have hated this place with every ounce of my being, for so long, that I am acutally happy in a way, that we will be done with it so soon. Nevermind the fact that it will be near impossible to move everything out in our alloted time frame- mostly because just walking up the stairs exausts me more than I would have ever imagined possible... Lucky for me my husband has plenty of free time this week ;)

Scoot Scoot!

My dad has officially quit the world of computers. He has given them the old birdie finger and decided to venture out on his own. So what do you do after you have been working in the software industry after 20 something years? Open a SCOOTER business of course! It has been quite the adventure the last few weeks as the family has been working feverishly trying to get everything ready to start selling scooters. From getting a dealers license, to putting scooters together, to trying to figure out how to make the horn honk, we have all been learning a lot. Dad and mom have been wrapped up in the business side of things...taking classes and tests, leasing building and ordering inventory. And the kids have been helping out by figuring how to put scooters together. Tyler has been a big help, as he has the most mechanical experience out of anyone else in the family combined. He is a regular white knight on a shinny scooter ;) I, however, have found that scooters are not my forte, and have found other ways to contribute. I spend countless minutes chasing flies in the office, trying to swat them out of existence. When this activity grows old, I frantically pull up a game on the computer, and test my knowledge there :)

Everyone has been stressed, trying to learn new things, and making sure we are following the dealer rules. But I am very impressed at how quickly our little business has flown together. I am especially proud of my dad, and the vision he created, and his ability to put his thoughts into actions so successfully.

We have our first parking log sale this week! We are all very, very excited! It will be at the bottom of the Provo/Orem hill on state street- so its an awesome location. Keep your fingers crossed, and your prayers a comin', and lets all hope this weekend shows us some lovin'! If all turns out as planned, all the hard work everyone has been putting in, will be paid off!

We made a BABY!

I have been hounded at work, and by others to start a blasted blog. And now that we have some baby news for people to keep up with, I have finally caved! Ty and I are expecting a wee little one at the end of April. Right now, the wee little one is about the size of a sesamee seed. Now I have to wonder, why in the world something that itty bitty in my belly, can make me feel ultra ew all over?? Doesn't seem fair. Tyler is very excited about becoming a daddy. I am sure he is extra excited for my balloning body, mood swings and swollen ankles, that i will soon be sporting in the next eight months ;). I have to send a saving grace card to my dear friend Rachel. She set me up with a killer supply of Preggie Pops, that help so much with the morning sickness! (which by the way, is a decieving name, cause morning sickness doesn't just last in the morning...it happens all day.)
Another thanks needs to go out to Mindy, a friend at my work, who announced she was having a baby at the beginning of last week. When I heard the news, it reminded me that I was late...which prompted us to take the blessed pregnancy test. So a big shout out to her!
I really haven't been too sick, which is lucky. I have only thrown up twice (both yesterday) and I usually make it through the day, without getting too tired. Tyler and I both feel really lucky that we were able to start having a kid so quickly! We feel very ready to take on the challenges that lie ahead- to learn from them, and grow from them as people, and in the gospel, and in our lives.
Wish us luck!
